In 2012, the Vita came out in North America with a price tag of $299 and a selection of about two dozen titles, several of which were ports of older PS2 Console or PS3 games. Console-to-handheld ports are often hit-or-miss. Long loading times, pieces of story and features hacked off of the original, a degraded soundtrack - all of these are possibilities when a console game is ported onto a handheld. For that reason, some of these titles pass unnoticed. There is one PS2-to-Vita port that Vita owners shouldn't miss out on, however. Everything You Need to Know Before Buying a PlayStation Vita

Buying a new gaming device is always exciting; until you get it home and find out that you don’t have everything you need to actually play it. So before you purchase that new PlayStation Vita, know your facts and avoid any unpleasant surprises.   The PS Vita is available as both a 3G/Wi-Fi model, and a Wi-Fi only model. The 3G/Wi-Fi model is currently priced at $299.99. 3G services are offered exclusively through AT&T with contract free, 30 day service plans. Currently, AT&T is offering a 250 MB plan for $14.99, 3 GB plan for $30.00, and a 5 GB plan for $50.00. Unfortunately, 3G downloads are restricted to 20 MB.
